DUI Collision on Blackstone and Barstow Avenues in Fresno

February 25, 2015- An automobile collision occurred in Fresno, on Wednesday.  The early morning car crash happened on Blackstone and Barstow avenues, at about 3 AM.

It is reported that a 28 year old man was driving southbound on Blackstone Avenue.  He veered onto the median and hit two trees, before the intersection of Barstow Avenue.

Officers suspect that the man was intoxicated while driving.

The driver suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.  His condition is not know at this time.

Dense Fog Caused 20 Car Accidents on Highway 198, Between Lemoore and Hanford

Tulare, Kings, Kern, and Fresno County Collision Lawyer John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Tuesday, February 3, 2015, forty two cars were involved in 20 separate crashes near Hanford.  The multiple vehicle accidents took place on Highway 198 east, as a result of dense fog, at around 7:45 AM.

The first collision occurred on the eastbound freeway near 14th Avenue, between Lemoore and Hanford.  The CHP reported that visibility was at 600-1,200 feet at the time of the accidents.

Five or more people were hurt.  Their injuries ranged from minor to moderate.  All were taken for treatment to the hospital.

Fresno County Multi-Car Collision, near Parlier Caused by Wrong-Way Driver

On Thursday, February 12, 2015, foggy weather contributed to a multi-vehicle accident near Parlier.  The Fresno County 4-car pileup was caused by wrong-way driver, at Manning and Riverbend avenues, at around 6:30 AM.

The California Highway Patrol reported that one driver was traveling eastbound in the opposite lanes of traffic on Manning Avenue.  The crash hurt at least two people.  Those injured were taken to a local hospital.

Officers reported that the fog could have been a factor in the collision.

Vehicle Crash Involving Crane Truck on Highway 58, Ends Fatally, in Buttonwillow

February 17, 2015- A semi truck collision takes the lives of two people on Tuesday, in Kern County.  The Buttonwillow vehicle accident happened on Highway 58 and Palomas Road, at approximately 7:15 AM.

Carrie Rae Gilliard was driving a pickup truck north on Palomas Road, with her passenger Joshua Shane Shepherd.  The truck ran a stop sign at Highway 58 and smashed into a freightliner crane.  The impact sent both vehicles careening into concrete walls, and a power pole, before coming to rest in a homeowner's front yard.

Gilliard and Shepherd were partially thrown from the truck.  They were both pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The crane operator, a 21 year old man from Bakersfield, was not injured.

Hit and Run Collisions Near Atwater on Northbound Highway 99, in Merced County

On Monday, February, 16, 2015, a hit and run accident took the lives of two people in Merced County.  The vehicle collision occurred in the northbound lanes of Highway 99, near Sultana Drive, at about 9 AM.

The car accidents happened near Atwater, when a white or silver sedan was traveling north on Hwy 99, in the slow lane.  The auto veered into the the center lane and hit a Nissan Xterra, driven by Maninder Singh, of Laton.

The Xterra SUV overturned crossed the grassy median and came to rest in the southbound lanes.

Then the silver/white car continued to drive down the freeway and hit another vehicle.  A Nissan Versa, driven by Sedra Nadine Sigarroa, of Merced.  The impact caused the Versa to drive into the southbound lanes too, but the vehicle did not roll over.

The sedan then fled the scene, and the hit and run driver is still at large.

Maninder Singh, suffered major injuries.  He was taken to Memorial Medical in Modesto.  There were three passengers in his vehicle; Javir Kaur and Nirbhai Singh, were thrown from the Xterra.  Kaur died at the scene of the accident, while Nirbhai received serious injuries.  He was airlifted to Doctors Medical Center, in Modesto.

The front passenger in Singh's Sport Utillity Vehicle; Kewal Singh, 72 years old, was also pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Sigarroa was not hurt.

Fatal Car Collision on Friant Road Caused by Drunk Driver in Fresno

San Joaquin Valley Automobile Accident Lawyer John Rozier has the subsequent update; On Saturday, February 21, 2015, a drunk driver caused a collision that led to two fatalities.  The vehicle crash happened in northeast Fresno, at about 9:20 PM.

Hector Castillo-Pichardo, 23. was driving while intoxicated in a silver pickup truck.  He was traveling northbound on Friant Road, when he ran a red light at Copper River Drive.  The pickup smashed into a white Acura SUV, driven by Molly Griffin, 23.

Molly Griffin, with her passenger, Emily Krieghoff, had been in the process of making a left-hand turn on a green light, when the truck hit the Sport Utility Vehicle.

Griffin was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Krieghoff suffered serious injuries, which included a lacerated aorta, and a fractured hip.  She was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where she is recovering.

A passenger in the pickup truck, Oscar Felix, sustained major injuries and died at the hospital.

Castillo-Pichardo received minor injuries.  He was arrested and charged with DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

Bicyclist Killed in Auto Collision on Friant Road in Fresno

February 19, 2015- a bicyclist was killed in an automobile collision in Fresno.  The car accident happened on Friant Road, on Thursday, at about 6 PM.

A 16 year old driver was traveling in a 2011 Mercedes, southbound on Friant Road.  The car was going at about 60-70 miles per hour down the roadway.

Nick Bukilica, 52 years old, was riding his bike north on Friant Rd.  He was about to turn left onto Old Friant Road, when he was hit by the Mercedes.

The CHP reported that there wasn't a lot of lighting at the time of the crash.  The auto driver did not see the biker, when he was struck on the right side of the bicycle.

Bukilica was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kings County Car Collision Kills One and Injures Four at Kansas & 18th Avenues

An update to the fatal collision that occurred in Kings County, on Monday, February 23, 2015.  The victim has been identified, in the automobile accident that happened at about 3:43 AM, south of Lemoore.

The driver who was fatally wounded was Alberto Valencia, 26 years old, of San Simeon.  He was driving a Chevy Malibu, with his passenger Armando Valencia, headed south on 18th Avenue.  The Chevrolet ran the stop sign at the intersection of 18th and Kansas avenues.

The Malibu was hit by a 1995 Honda Civic, driven by Jose Luis S. Martinez, who was eastbound on Kansas Ave at 60 mph.  The Honda smashed into the right passenger side door of the car.

Alberto Valencia suffered serious injuries and was taken to Adventist Health Medical Center in Hanford, where he later died.  Armando Valencia sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital in Hanford.

Martinez, and his two passengers; Saul Santos and Renee Cruz, sustained moderate to major injuries.  They were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno for treatment.

Automobile Accident on Kansas and 18th Avenue, Ends Fatally, Near Lemoore

February 23, 2015- A automobile accident south of Lemoore, killed one and injured four others.  The vehicle collision took place on Kansas Avenue, at approximately 3:43 AM.

A San Simeon man, 26, was traveling in a Chevy Malibu, with his passenger; Armando Valencia, 29.  The Chevrolet failed to stop at the marked stop sign at the intersection of Kansas Avenue and 18th Avenue.  The car was broadsided by a Honda Civic that was driven by Jose Luis S. Martinez, from Madera.

The Malibu's driver sustained major injuries and was rushed to an area hospital.  He later died from his injuries.  Valencia received minor injuries.

There were two passengers in the Honda; Saul Santos, and Renee Cruz.  They both suffered serious injuries.  While Martinez sustained moderate injuries.  They were also taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Kings County Semi Truck Accident near Highway 41 on Kansas Avenue

Central California Automobile Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following report; On Sunday, February 8, 2015, a tanker truck accident killed one.  The big rig collision took place in Kings County, near Highway 41, at approximately 11 AM.

A Kerman man, 58, was driving a 2007 Freightliner that was carrying milk, westbound on Kansas Avenue.  The tractor-trailer drifted onto the shoulder of the roadway.  The driver over-corrected and lost control of the milk truck.

The semi overturned and came to rest in the middle of the road on its side.  The driver died at the scene of the crash.

The accident is under investigation.

Big Rig Collision in Tulare County on Road 152, near Porterville

On Thursday, February 12, 2015, a two vehicle accident took place in Tulare County.  The big rig collision happened near Porterville, on Road 152.

Joshua Woodward was driving a 1998 Mazda on Road 152.  At the same time Uriel Sandoval, of Pixley was driving a semi truck and slowed down to make a left turn onto Avenue 160.  Woodward tried to pass the tractor-trailer as it turned, and hit the left rear of the vehicle.

A passenger in the Mazda, Brianna Hollingsworth, 19, suffered injuries in the crash.  She was taken to Sierra View Medical Center, in Porterville.

Fresno Drunk Driving Vehicle Accident on Friant Road, Kills Two People

February 21, 2015- A drunk driving accident killed two people in northeast Fresno.  The car collision occurred on Saturday, at about 9:20 PM.

Hector Castillo-Pichardo was driving a north on Friant Road in a silver pickup truck.  He ran a red light at Copper River Drive, and smashed into a white Acura Sport Utility Vehicle, driven by Molly Griffin, 23 years old.  The SUV had been turning left on a green light, onto Friant Rd.

Molly Griffin died at the scene of the collision.

Oscar Felix, a passenger in Pichardo's truck, suffered serious injuries.  He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

Three other victims, including a 23 year old Fresno woman, who was a passenger in the Acura, sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.  The female passenger is still reported to be in critical condition.

Castillo-Pichardo received minor injuries.  He was arrested for vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI.

Merced County Hit and Run Crash on Highway 99 Ends in Two Fatalities

On Monday, February 16, 2015, a hit and run vehicle collision kills two people on Highway 99 North, on Monday.  The car accident occurred near Atwater, in Merced County, at about 9 AM.

A white or silver sedan was traveling in the slow lane on northbound Highway 99, near Westside Boulevard.  The automobile swerved into the center lane and ran into a Nissan Xterra, driven by a Laton man; Maninder Singh, 22 years of age.

The Nissan flipped over onto the grass center divide of the freeway, and into the southbound lanes.  Two passengers in the backseat of the vehicle; Javir Kaur, 45 years old, and Nirbhai Singh, 53 years old, were thrown from the vehicle.

Kaur was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.  Kewal Singh, 72, was the front passenger in the Xterra.  He also was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nirbhai Singh was flown, by helicopter, to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, having suffered major injuries.  Maninder Singh also sustained serious injuries and was taken to Memorial Medical Center, in Modesto.

All four people in the Xterra were family members from the town of Laton, in Fresno County.

The silver sedan continued driving north after the crash with Singh.  The sedan then hit a second vehicle, a Nissan Versa, driven by Sedra Nadine Sigarroa, of Merced.  That vehicle swerved into the south lanes of the highway, but did not roll over.

Sigarroa was not injured in the crash.

The hit and run driver is still at large, at this time.  Authorities are on the lookout for him or her.

The victims in the pickup truck were partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

The crane truck driver was not harmed in the incident.

A Car Crash South of Lemoore on Kansas Avenue, Kills One

On Monday, February 23, 2015, a two car collision ends in fatality, south of Lemoore.  The vehicle accident occurred at about 3:43 AM, at 18th and Kansas avenues.

A 26 year old man, from San Simeon, was driving a Chevrolet Malibu, when he ran a stop sign at Kansas Avenue.  He was broadsided by a Honda Civic, driven by Jose Luis S. Martinez, of Madera.

Drunk Driver Causes Automobile Accident in Fresno

February 18, 2015- A DUI accident lead to the arrest of a 20 year old woman, in Fresno.  The drunk driving collision happened late Tuesday/early Wednesday.

The female driver of a red car was driving while intoxicated in Fresno's Tower District.  She hit a taxi that had five occupants.  The people in the taxi were not harmed in the crash.

The woman was arrested at the scene for driving while under the influence.  It is reported that she was on probation for a previous DUI offense.

Kings County Multiple Automobile Crashes on Highway 198 Caused by Fog

February 3, 2015- Multiple vehicle collisions occurred near Hanford as a result of early morning fog, on Tuesday.  The Kings County car accidents all happened on Highway 198, with the first crash near 14th Avenue, at about 7:45 AM.

The automobiles collisions that happened on the eastbound highway, between Lemoore and Hanford, were all fog-related, according to the California Highway Patrol.  At the time of the twenty crashes, that involved at least 42 vehicles, visibility was at 600 to 1200 feet.

At least five people were injured in the incidents.  The victims injuries were from minor to moderate.  They were taken to the hospital for treatment of their wounds.

Wrong Way Driver on Manning Avenue, near Parlier, Led to Multi-Car Crash

On Thursday, February 12, 2015, a multi-car accident took place near Parlier.  The fog-related vehicle collision occurred at about 6:30 AM, in Fresno County.

One driver was said to have been traveling the wrong way in the westbound lanes on Manning Avenue, when the crash happened.  The accident occurred at Manning and Riverbend avenues.

At least two victims were hurt and taken to the hospital.

Hanford Motorcycle Collision Ends Fatally, on Excelsior Avenue

Visalia Accident Attorney John Rozier has the subsequent collision report; On Sunday, February 15, 2015, a Visalia motorcyclist was killed.  The Kings County motorcycle accident occurred in Hanford, on Sunday night.

A 2009 Harley Davidson, driven by Jimmy Dean Slayton, 54, was headed westbound on Excelsior Avenue, past 16th Avenue.  As the motorcycle drove through a curve in the roadway, it began to drift into the opposite lanes of traffic.

The bike hit an asphalt curb edge, and the biker was thrown from his vehicle.  

Slayton was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Pickup Crashes into Crane Truck in Kern County on Highway 58 and Palomas Road

On Tuesday, February 17, 2015, a big rig accident killed two people in Buttonwillow, California.  The vehicle collision happened in Kern County, on Highway 58, at approximately 7:15 AM.

Carrie Rae Gilliard was driving a pickup truck with her passenger, Joshua Shane Shepherd.  The truck was headed north on Palomas Road, when it ran the stop sign at Highway 58.

Fatal Crane Truck and Pickup Collision on Highway 58 in Buttonwillow

February 17, 2015- A crane truck collision ends in fatality west of Bakersfield at Highway 58.  The Kern County vehicle accident happened in Buttonwillow, on Tuesday, at about 7:15 AM.

The CHP reported that the crash occurred when a pickup truck, driven by Carrie Rae Gilliard, was traveling north on Palomas Road.  The pickup ran a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 58 and Palomas.

Hit and Run Car Collision Kills Two on Highway 99 near Atwater

On Monday, February 16, 2015, a hit and run car accident ends in two fatalities, in Merced County.  The vehicle collision occurred on Highway 99, near Atwater, at about 9 AM.

A white or silver sedan was reported to have been northbound in the slow lane on Highway 99.  South of Westside Boulevard, the automobile swerved into the center lane of the freeway, and hit a Nissan Xterra.

The Xterra then rolled over into the grass median and onto the southbound side of the highway.

The driver of the sedan did not stop after hitting the Nissan, but continued on and hit another vehicle.  This time it ran into a Nissan Versa which veered into the southbound lanes, from the impact, but did not overturn.

The hit and run driver then continued on driving north on Hwy 99.  Officers are still trying to locate him or her.

The rear passengers in the Xterra, a 45 year old woman and a 53 year old man, were thrown from the car.  The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.  While the man suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Doctors Medical Center, in Modesto.

The front seat passenger of the Xterra, a 70 year old man, also died at the scene of the collision.  The 22 year old man, who was driving also sustained major injuries.

No one in the Nissan Versa was reported to have been hurt.

All four victims were family members from the community of Laton, in Fresno County.

Motorcycle Accident in Hanford Kills Visalia Man on Excelsior Avenue

February 15, 2015- A Visalia man was killed in a motorcycle collision, in Kings County.  The vehicle accident took place in Hanford, Sunday night.

Jimmy Dean Slayton, 54 years old, was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson, traveling west on Excelsior Avenue, near 16th Avenue.  The bike began to veer into the eastbound lanes through a curve in the roadway.

The motorcycle crashed into an asphalt curb edge, and Slayton was thrown from the Harley.  The CHP reported that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Slayton died at the scene of the collision.

Semi Truck Accident near Porterville on Road 152 and Avenue 160

Tulare County Personal Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident report; On Thursday, February 12, 2015, a 2-car collision took place near Porterville.  The automobile crash happened on Road 152, at Avenue 160.

A 1998 Mazda, driven by Joshua Woodward of Porterville, was traveling on Road 152.  He attempted to pass a semi truck, driven by Uriel Sandoval, of Pixley.

Sandoval had slowed his big rig down to make a left-hand turn onto Avenue 160.  The front of the Mazda car smashed into the left rear of the 2014 Freightliner.

Brianna Hollingsworth, 19 years old, was a passenger in Woodward's vehicle, was injured in the collision.  She was taken to Sierra View Medical Center, for treatment.

The accident is under investigation.

Tanker Truck Collision in Kings County, Ends Fatally on Kansas Avenue

On Sunday, February 8, 2015, a semi truck collision ended in fatality, in Kings County.  The big rig accident happened on Kansas Avenue, at about 11:00 AM, near Highway 41.

The driver, a 58 year old Kerman man, was hauling milk in a 2007 Freightliner, headed west on Kansas Ave.  The semi truck veered onto the shoulder of the road.  The driver then swerved back onto the roadway, and lost control.  The big rig rolled over and ended up on its side in the middle of the street.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Car Driving Wrong-way Led to Multiple Vehicle Accident in Fresno County

February 12, 2015- Two people were hurt in a multi-vehicle collision, in Fresno County.  The 4-car accident happened near Parlier, at about 6:30 AM.

The automobile crash occurred at Manning and Riverbend avenues.  One driver was reported to have been driving east in the westbound lanes of Manning Avenue.

At least two people sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The weather at the time of the incident was very foggy.  This could have contributed to the collision.

Highway 198 Fog-Related Vehicle Collisions Between Lemoore and Hanford

A total of twenty automobile collisions took place in Kings County, on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.  The vehicle accidents all happened on eastbound Highway 198, and involved at least 42 cars,  The first crash began at approximately 7:45 AM, near 14th Avenue, between Hanford and Lemoore.

The CHP said that the collisions were all fog-related.  Visibility at the time of the wrecks was at 600-1200 feet.

It has been reported that five or more people were hurt.  Their injuries ranged from minor to moderate.  The victims were taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Kern County Big Rig Accident on Highway 58, in Bakersfield

On Friday, February 6, 2015, a semi truck accident slowed traffic in Bakersfield.  The tractor-trailer collision occurred on Highway 58 East, at approximately 7:30 AM.

A big rig was jackknifed across all eastbound lanes of the freeway, blocking the flow of traffic, at the Mount Vernon Avenue exit.  The wreck stopped cars all the way to Highway 99.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.

Multiple Car Accidents Occurred in Kings County, on Highway 198, near Hanford

On Tuesday, February 3, 2015, dense morning fog led to twenty separate automobile accidents on Highway 198.  The car collisions happened in Kings County and started at about 7:45 AM, near 14th Avenue.

The vehicle crashes involved a total of forty-two autos, on eastbound Highway 198, between Hanford and Lemoore. At least five people were injured in the incidents, with injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

The CHP reported that the fog at the time of the accidents left drivers with visibility at a distance of 600 to 1,200 feet, in front of their vehicles.

Those injured in the wrecks were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Fatal Fog-Related Multi-Vehicle Accident in Fresno County, on Highway 41

January 28, 2015- A Foster Farms poultry truck was involved in a multiple vehicle accident on Highway 41.  The Fresno County big rig collision happened on Wednesday, at approximately 3 AM.

A semi truck carrying chickens was on the shoulder of the northbound freeway on Highway 41, near Central Avenue.  The tractor-trailer was parked and the driver, who was from Livingston, was out of the cab at the side of the road.

A tanker truck, driven by Brandon Russell, of Visalia, was headed north on the highway, driving through dense fog, when the vehicle hit the parked semi.  The impact sent the Foster Farms rig across the freeway, and the driver of the truck was pinned under the front driver-side tire for about 40 minutes.

The poultry truck driver was seriously injured and rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.  He later died from his wounds, in the hospital.

Following the initial collision, two other cars crashed into the wreckage.  First, a pickup truck, driven by Mario Moreno, of Riverdale.  Then another poultry truck from Foster Farms, driven by Hoscar Rodriguez, of Fresno.

Brandon Russell, the tanker truck driver, suffered major injuries, and Moreno, minor injuries.  They were also taken to the Fresno hospital for treatment.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident was fog-related.

Kings County Semi Truck Crash Kills Driver on Kansas Avenue, near Highway 41

Tulare County Personal Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident report; On Sunday, February 8, 2015, a fatal big rig collision killed one man in Kings County.  The semi truck crash happened on Kansas Avenue, near Highway 41, at approximately 11 AM.

The Kerman man, 58 years old, was driving a 2007 Freightliner hauling milk, west on Kansas Avenue.  The tractor-trailer began to drift onto the shoulder of the roadway.  The driver over-corrected, which caused the big rig to overturn.

The Kerman resident suffered major injuries and died at the scene of the accident.

Bakersfield Semi Truck Collision on Eastbound Highway 58

February 6, 2015- A big rig accident closed eastbound Highway 58 to traffic, in Bakersfield.  The Kern County semi truck collision happened Friday, at about 7:30 AM.

It is reported that a tractor-trailer blocked all the eastbound lanes of the freeway, after the crash caused the rig to jackknife.  Traffic was backed up onto Highway 99, until the wreckage could be cleared.  The semi accident took place on the highway at Mt. Vernon Avenue.

Fatality from Fog-Related Semi Truck Collision on Highway 41, in Fresno County

On Wednesday, January 28, 2015, a fog-related vehicle collision involving three semi trucks, and one pickup truck took place in Fresno County.  The fatal big rig accident happened on Highway 41, at about 3 AM.

A Foster Farms poultry truck was on the north Highway 41 freeway, pulled over on the side of the road, near Central Avenue.  The driver, from Livingston, of the tractor trailer, that was carrying chickens, was out of his cab on the shoulder of the highway, for an unknown reason.

Brandon Russell, of Visalia, was driving a tanker truck northbound on the freeway, when the vehicle crashed into the Foster Farms rig.  The crash caused the poultry truck to jackknife across the highway.  The driver of the poultry truck got pinned underneath a front tire of his vehicle for about 40 minutes.

The initial accident was then the scene for two other crashes.  A pickup truck, driven by Mario Moreno, of Riverdale, smashed into the original wreck.  Then another Foster Farms semi, driven by Hoscar Rodriguez, of Fresno, hit shortly afterward.

The Livingston man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.  He died while in the hospital.

Russell also sustained major injuries, and Moreno minor injuries.  They were taken to Community Regional for treatment, as well.

The CHP  reported that the foggy weather played a major factor in the collisions.
